Peter is Principal and Founder of Calthorpe Analytics. His 30 year practice has helped solidify a global trend towards the key principles of sustainable urban development. Peter is driven by a desire to put better information and better tools in the hands of decision makers, advocates, and organizations on the front lines of development, energy, climate, and health planning.
CEO & Founder
Joe is CEO and Founder of UrbanFootprint (formerly Calthorpe Analytics). He leverages more than 20 years of experience in land use and transportation planning in leading the development and deployment of the UrbanFootprint software platform. His career has focused on the implementation of actionable, data-driven tools that bring critical information to land use planning decisions, energy and water resource choices, and the environmental, public health, and social equity challenges of our times.
Vice President of Marketing
Andrew is an award-winning and data-driven executive with more than 20 years’ experience building software his customers are passionate about. Prior to Calthorpe Analytics, Andrew has run product and engineering organizations at large companies such as Cisco and BEA, and has been instrumental in the growth phase at numerous technology startups.
Director of Software Engineering
Jamie manages our software development team and leverages more than 15 years of software development and energy modeling experience. He previously managed Nokia’s software infrastructure and systems for the global fleet of ‘HERE Maps’ high definition mapping vehicles. He’s also worked on tools to support scaled video conferencing, and on visual effects for the Matrix movies. In the energy sector, Jamie managed utility energy efficiency programs for large computer data centers.
Lead Software Engineer
Alec has worked in software for 20 years at companies small and large. A champion of the web platform, he has worked at Netscape, Macromedia, and the Open Source Applications Foundation. Most recently he comes from Google where he worked on data pipelines and interactive tools for the Knowledge Graph, HTML5 features for Chrome, and UI for Consumer Surveys. He specializes in developing creative and innovative data-centric user interfaces and data visualizations.
Senior Software Engineer
Bobby brings 15+ years of software development experience, with a focus on back-end technology and distributed systems. He joins us from CoreOS, where he worked on computing cluster systems and security. He previously spent several years at Google, working with Knowledge Graph on data pipelines and public APIs, and with Machine Intelligence research. Having worked on open-source software at the Open Source Applications Foundation and CoreOS, and open-data at Metaweb, Bobby is passionate about software with a social mission.
Andrew is a software engineer with experience at start-up, enterprise, non-profit and governmental organizations. He joined Calthorpe Analytics from Code for America, an organization focused on designing, building and deploying digital technologies that improve the delivery of municipal public services. Prior to CfA, he worked on software for both commercial vehicle telematics and web-scale distributed data mining and machine learning.
Senior Software Engineer
Bryan is a software engineer with over 10 years experience at startups, industry research groups, and multinational conglomerates. He specializes in creating tools for understanding and processing big data. He most recently joins us from Google where he worked on crowdsourced data mining with Machine Intelligence, and dataset reconciliation tools for Knowledge Graph.
Matt is a software engineer specializing in front-end frameworks and architecture and has worked most recently for Workiva and PaySimple. Matt also has a background in hardware engineering and previously worked at Los Alamos National Labs where he focused on remote handling robotics and high speed data acquisition utilizing FPGAs.
Erika Lew is a project manager and scenario planner at Calthorpe Analytics. She has been heavily engaged in the development and deployment of the RapidFire and UrbanFootprint models in projects across the United States and abroad. With training in urban planning and computer science, she plays a major role in scenario planning projects and multi-metric impact modeling of local and regional plans and policies.
Koshy is an engineer and planner with interests in solving cities’ land use and transportation infrastructure problems through innovative methods of data gathering and analysis. His role at Calthorpe Analytics includes spatial data analysis and scenario development.
Manager of Data Science
Kelan is an urban planner and transportation engineer with a background in geography and international development. He has significant experience working in the US, Latin America, and Africa dealing with community development and transportation policy. His role at Calthorpe Analytics includes spatial analysis and scenario development with the UrbanFootprint platform.
Brock is an urban planner with expertise in international development, project management, and research. He has worked throughout Latin America and California, and is interested in the intersection between land use policy—particularly in developing countries—and socially, spatially and environmentally equitable development. His role at Calthorpe Analytics includes spatial analysis and scenario development with the UrbanFootprint and RapidFire platforms.
Kuan has a background in both transportation planning and software development. He has experience working in the US, South and East Asia, and Latin America developing digital tools for transit network analysis. Kuan joins Calthorpe Analytics most recently from Code for America, where he developed a communications platform for case managers working in the criminal justice system. Prior to that, he worked at Microsoft’s civic technology team on NYC MTA bus tracking and performance and on bus routing tools with the MIT Media Lab. His role at Calthorpe Analytics includes developing multimodal network analysis models and scenario development with the UrbanFootprint platform.
Yiyan is a transportation planner and engineer focusing on the intersection between urban data science and urban planning processes. Her expertise lies in data analytics and visualization, and she also brings specific experience working with agent-based travel demand models. Her role at Calthorpe Analytics includes spatial analysis and analysis module development for the UrbanFootprint platform.
Customer Support Specialist
Remy is a sales professional who has worked in Sustainability his whole career. With previous experience at a renewable energy provider, a sustainable supply software chain start-up (both in the UK), and an enterprise EHS&S software company in the U.S.
Remy has worked with numerous companies in the public and private sector to assist them with advancing their sustainability targets using cutting-edge software. He believes that the catalyst for change lies in a deep and fundamental understanding of the impacts that growth brings. He believes UrbanFootprint can play a vital role in this.
Customer Success Manager
Jason is an urban planner with expertise in sustainable planning. He has worked for more than 15 years on planning and sustainability, including work on: LEED for Neighborhood Development and EcoDistricts projects, Transit-oriented and mixed-use development projects, Capital Improvement Plans; and Market analysis / policy guidance documents. Jason joins us most recently from the US Green Building Council where he worked on best practices for urban-scale sustainability and resilience practices. He uses this experience to work with customers, helping them apply UrbanFootprint to their projects.
