Joining an impressive community
Today, we are thrilled to share that we have been selected from hundreds of candidates as one of the World Economic Forum’s 2023 Technology Pioneers. Launched in 2000, the World Economic Forum’s Technology Pioneers is a community composed of early-stage companies from around the world that are involved in the design, development and deployment of new technologies and innovations, poised to have a significant impact on business and society. Members of this community get direct access to engage with public and private sector leaders to contribute to new solutions and overcome current crises and build future resiliency – in beautiful synergy with UrbanFootprint’s mission to Build Resilience.
Champions for resilience
Founded in 2015, UrbanFootprint has continued to enhance our suite of solutions to proactively support public and private organizations as they navigate current, urgent, and pressing challenges. Today, we deliver Resilient Decision Intelligence to those responsible for deploying billions of dollars to effect change in the face of climate risk, the urgent need to decarbonize, and growing social inequality and instability.
Our platform provides actionable insights through powerful mapping applications and champions the important role that multidimensional data insights must play in resilient decision making. The platform rigorously cleans, unifies, and aligns thousands of previously siloed datasets into a unified digital landscape covering 99% of the U.S. and 16 million parcels.
In great company
As a Technology Pioneer, our CEO Joe DiStefano will represent UrbanFootprint with the World Economic Forum, working alongside global leaders to help address key industry and societal issues, and join Forum events and discussions throughout the year with leading stakeholders from the public and private sector.
“It is a great honor to be recognized as a Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum, alongside other innovative leaders working to build a more efficient, equitable, and resilient future,” said DiStefano. “We are looking forward to being in community with the world’s leading innovators, sharing our expertise in building resilience, and learning from more mature organizations.”
This year’s Technology Pioneer cohort includes startups from 31 economies, with a third led by a woman chief executive. China has the second highest representation with 12 Technology Pioneers, behind the US with 29 companies.
“We’re excited to welcome UrbanFootprint to our 2023 cohort of Technology Pioneers,” said Verena Kuhn, Head of Innovator Communities at the World Economic Forum. “UrbanFootprint and its fellow pioneers are at the forefront of the innovation and disruption needed to help us solve the world’s most pressing issues. We look forward to their contribution to the Forum’s content work that brings together the public and private sectors to tackle these global issues.”
